Special encounters
- Lake Acuity: Poke Radar
Getting there
- Safari Zone (Hoenn): You need the Pokeblock Case from the Lilycove contest hall, and pay the entry fee at the gate on Route 121.
- Cerulean Cave: Opens only after the Celio quest is finished and he has the Sapphire. Learn the password in the Sapphire Room of the Dotted Hole (Six Island, through Ruin Valley), open the Rocket Warehouse on Five Island with it, beat Gideon for the Sapphire and give it to Celio. The guard at the house in the north west of Cerulean City then leaves. Bring Surf. All of this needs the Rainbow Pass.
- Cape Brink: Needs the Tri-Pass. Beat Blaine in the Cinnabar Island Gym; Bill then takes you to One Island, where Celio gives you the Tri-Pass. With it, the Seagallop at the Vermilion City pier (the man at the gate at its end) sails to One, Two and Three Island.
- Berry Forest: Needs the Tri-Pass. Beat Blaine in the Cinnabar Island Gym; Bill then takes you to One Island, where Celio gives you the Tri-Pass. With it, the Seagallop at the Vermilion City pier (the man at the gate at its end) sails to One, Two and Three Island. Berry Forest is on Three Island, west across Bond Bridge. The Hypno battle there is one-time.
- Sendoff Spring: Reached from Spring Path north of Route 214; the doorway to Turnback Cave is here. Finish the Spear Pillar story first.
- Resort Area: Enter from Route 229.
- Ilex Forest: Celebi: after you beat the Johto Champion, the deliveryman in a Johto Poke Mart gives you the GS Ball. Give it to the shrine in the forest.
- Mt. Silver Cave: Mt. Silver is west of the gatehouse between Route 26 and Route 28. The guard lets you through only after you have beaten all four Champions (Hoenn, Kanto, Sinnoh and Johto).

Levels are this area's own. In your first region they stay as shown; in a region you open later they are raised to match your progress, unless you started that region fresh. See levels.
